I love teaching piano!

I love teaching piano! I have the best job in the world! I love teaching piano! I only teach 3 students on Tuesdays–today was the first day for the youngest–but it’s definitely a highlight of the week having them come over to show how much they’ve progressed. Tonight I was just so thrilled with our lessons that I had to share about it. I love how excited they are to show what they’ve practiced, I love how quickly they are learning new things, I love how determined they are to make me... Read More

Williamsburg

Williamsburg Yesterday we went to Williamsburg. For those who don’t know it’s this historical city/tourist spot where you can learn tons about the American Revolution and colonial times. It’s only about an hour drive east of Richmond. It’s pretty neat, although if we’d realized that Busch Gardens was only 5 minutes away from Williamsburg, we might have gone there instead (haha). Anyway, here are the pictures. Tonya’s comments: It’s an interesting experience going to... Read More

Williams Mullen

Williams Mullen This is just a tidbit about my law endeavors. I recently got some e-mails about one of the big firms in town needing a spanish interpreter, and that it would also be nice if the spanish interpreter were a law student and could help out with the immigration caseload. So I sent in an e-mail and a resume, and lo and behold they said come on in. So now I have an official (non-paying ) internship with a big law firm. Williams Mullen is one of the three biggest law firms based out of Richmond, so... Read More

Come What May & Love It

I figured that was a better title than Happy Birthday Tonya, although that’s what this post is about. Yesterday was Tonya’s 25th birthday. I’ve only had the pleasure of being there for her past three birthdays. Each time it’s been a lot of fun. Tonya really enjoyed the calls and gifts and love she received from everyone. Thanks for making her feel special for her special day. We took the picture above at Brent and Jenny’s house. They have this quote from Elder... Read More

Rednecks

Rednecks The other day we went to a Bass Pro Shops store. We’ve seen it as we passed by on the interstate coming back from the temple, and one of Tonya’s coworkers said it was a neat store. So we made a trip out of it. The store is a little over the top. If you’re a redneck then this store = heaven. Pictures are below. The crosswalk going into the store was made of fish Four wheelers out in front of the... Read More

Being stranded on a lonely road

Being stranded on a lonely road This last week I volunteered to help out interpreting at the Bon Secours table at a job fair geared towards the Hispanic community. I also had the brilliant idea that I could look around for other job opportunities for myself as well, since I find myself asking myself at least once a week why I am ever in my job in the first place. Unfortunately I waited until Saturday morning, the day of the event, to update my resume, and that kind of stressed me out. Then I started thinking about actually... Read More
